چکیده

Abstract Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi that colonize the roots of plants growing on lands contaminated by heavy metals may influence phytostabilization process reducing translocation to aboveground parts plant. This study aimed evaluate effects soil amendments (lime and lignite) concentration bioavailable form (CaCl 2 extraction) in colonization Lolium perenne when cultivated soil. During experiment, bioavailability Pb, Cd, Zn was significantly reduced after application amendments, causing an increase L. shoot dry biomass. It observed higher dose lime (0.5%) resulting amplified values relative mycorrhizal intensity. However, independently dose, treatments increased occurrence arbuscules roots, with highest value 0.25% 5% lignite. The results for first time present effect lignite indicating arbuscules. These findings suggest order explain different responses applied treatment further investigations are needed identify spore morphology. experiment were implemented stabilize during remediation a spoil heap Ruda ?l?ska, Poland.

Effect of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi on young vines in copper-contaminated soil

High copper (Cu) levels in uprooted old vineyard soils may cause toxicity in transplanted young vines, although such toxicity may be reduced by inoculating plants with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF). The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of AMF on the plant growth, chlorophyll contents, mycorrhizal colonization, and Cu and phosphorus (P) absorption in young vines cultivate...

Solanum nigrum grown in contaminated soil: effect of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi on zinc accumulation and histolocalisation.

Zn tissue accumulation in Solanum nigrum grown in a non-contaminated and a naturally contaminated Zn matrix and the effect of inoculation with different arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) on metal uptake were assessed. S. nigrum grown in the contaminated soil always presented higher Zn accumulation in the tissues, accumulating up to 1622 mg Zn kg(-1). The presence of both Glomus claroideum and ...

When do arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi protect plant roots from pathogens?

Arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi are mainly thought to facilitate phosphorus uptake in plants, but they can also perform several other functions that are equally beneficial. Our recent study sheds light on the factors determining one such function, enhanced plant protection from root pathogens. Root infection by the fungal pathogen Fusarium oxysporum was determined by both plant susceptibility...

The effects of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and root interaction on the competition between Trifolium repens and Lolium perenne

Understanding the factors that alter competitive interactions and coexistence between plants is a key issue in ecological research. A pot experiment was conducted to test the effects of root interaction and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) inoculation on the interspecies competition between Trifolium repens and Lolium perenne under different proportions of mixed sowing by the combination trea...

Colonization of arbuscular-mycorrhizal fungi on Ri T-DNA transformed roots in synthetic medium.

Hairy root culture of tomato (Lycopersicon esculantum L.) was induced with three strains of Agrobacterium rhizogenes namely A4, ATCC 15834 and LBA 9402. The best response in terms of growth of hairy root was observed with A. rhizogenes strain A4 and LBA 9402 followed by ATCC 15834. Hairy roots were maintained on Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium but it could also grow on minimal (M) medium. Spore...
